Tint installers, please help! Is this damage from the installer?

Recommended Posts

Hello professional tint installers and everyone else, I need your upmost help in solving this problem. I just got my brand new car tinted and after a few days I noticed this on my driver side door panel. Is this damage caused by the tint installer? Heat damage? I had ceramic tint installed. I should’ve done a better job looking at every little detail on my car after the work but I was preoccupied. What could this be? Please help! The cars only 2 weeks old.

What vehicle is it?

Surely heat damage would be apparent immediately after seeing the car, I mean that looks like it would be obvious and not exactly hideable?

Can we get a picture from a little further back?

The applique looks spent, but the rubber doesn't look melted and I can't see any deep tooling marks in the film. So far I'm with Doc, leaning towards prior damage.

If that is a piece of plastic, it really looks like heat gun damage.  :twocents

That looks like a vinyl applique, like on an old Mazda style econo car.
