pgum
I recently wrapped my porsche cayenne with Avery Dennison vinyl wrap. after completing the wrap I noticed some of the pieces, specifically around the edges, have begun to peel off the car. I have tried heating them and resticking them but it only makes it worse. Any solutions or tips?
Dano
Mini torch might help. It sounds like the edges still had some grease/contamination. Use 90%alcohol then primer 94 on your edges next time.
pgum
so just to confirm, I should lift the peeling pieces and wipe down the surface of the car with alcohol, apply primer 94 and then place the wrap down?
Dano
No, that's what you should do next time. For now using a mini torch to heat the edges might help. If the glue is too contaminated, and won't stay down, you will need to remove and replace the film.
pgum
Can you think of anything else i can do that doesn't require restarting the wrap job?
Dano
Did you try to clean the edge and use a mini torch?
pgum
yea i cleaned the edge with isopropyl alcohol solution and used a heat gun on it but it only makes it stick temporarily.
Dano
The glue is spent. Nothing to do but rewrap it if you want it to have a professional appearance.
Jodan
If the problem is with the glue of the car wrap, you can use an adhesion promoter
