after tint was already installed, how would I know if the installer actually xpel XR Plus, instead of just regular XR?
If your willing to remove the tint from 1 window and use a heat lamp bulb and a BTU meter you could probably get a really good idea 😅 (from my experience) regular XR should get you about a 70% reduction in BTUs, where as XRPlus would be over 90%. You might at that point burn your bridge with your tinter though, it’s a bit extreme. -

Heavy Ghosting - Geoshield "Geo" Line
@Ryker Appreciate the tip, Thank You. Tinting was never easy, for sure. Not to go off on a tangent, but I can't imagine how much of a b*~ it would be to shrink Crystalline or Huper Optik, not to mention how expensive the film is. You'd need specialized factory training to learn em' I suppose. >:) Question if I may, is an H-Pattern absolutely necessary? Does it depend on your style of shrinking? I've noticed some folks play with the placement of the "H" , higher or lower, some don't tack the sides and leave just a central line to divide the top/bottom, and also some even somehow let the film float entirely with a tack. (dry shrinking btw) I've had a hell of a time previously on an early model Forester rear glass, and those apparently aren't even hard to shrink. 🤡 -

ISO: Repair Techs for the Jaguar IV Cutting Plotter
Hi All, Just wondering is anyone knows of either a repair tech or a shops that can assist with trouble shooting, maintaining, and repairing a Jaguar IV Cutting Plotter. I am located in South Beloit, IL. I am about 30 minutes north of Rockford, IL; an hour and a half northwest of Chicago, IL, an hour south east of Madison, WI, an hour and 15 minutes south west of Milwaukee, WI. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend! -

my tint installer is the same way.... so I ended up contacting xpel... apparently my tint installer is the top installer in my part of the state, according to the xpel rep... they(xpel) said all they needed for warranty was "his word"... -

steamer turned rubber glass seals white after removing tint.
not sure what the door glass seals are made of, but after steam removing tint, the seals turned white. possible to restore the black color? Car is old. Maybe I should have masked the seals with foil or used silicone lubricant on them before steaming so close? -

oh wow... funny you should mention the blue. I was just about to ask to see if it was normal for the XR Plus to look somewhat blue. When I'm driving, I obviously can't stare at the window... but today I let someone else drive while I sat in the passenger seat. That's when I noticed this gray/blue-ish color in the tint film. I just figured that the blue color came from the original factory glass... So this is normal for this film? Thanks!
