ChoiceWindowTint Posted November 8, 2023 Report Posted November 8, 2023 Using a Graphtec 9000 for PPF and it is constantly pulling to one side of the other. I have utilized the breaking system to make sure the role is tight, but still not able to make it stop pulling to one side of the other. Has anyone been through this? Using LLumar Valor PPF with no cap sheet
Dano Posted November 8, 2023 Report Posted November 8, 2023 Check the tensioners on the roller foot to make sure they are all set the same and clean the rubber rollers with alcohol. If it still pulls uneven then you're not setting the film up straight. Advance the film forward and back about 3feet to see if it's tracking properly.
ChoiceWindowTint Posted November 8, 2023 Author Report Posted November 8, 2023 @Dano Thanks, I will give the alcohol a try. The first three feet isn't really an issue, it's after that it starts to pull. I was bulking a hood and had to feed out 70" and the more I pre-fed out, the more it pulled. Dano 1
Dano Posted November 8, 2023 Report Posted November 8, 2023 When loading 60" PPF I'll spool out 5-6feet before lowering the clamp. As I lower the clamp I flatten the material from side to side so that it doesn't bunch up, then feed it backwards to the origin point. Of all the materials, ppf seems to be the most difficult to keep square. Sounds like you're on the right track.
