Worst experience ever

Recommended Posts

So, I got my windows tinted on a new BMW 8 series GC. I've never been to this shop before but the reviews seem decent. The guy comes up to me when he's finished and says to only have the AC on my feet and to not roll my windows down for 2 weeks. I've had probably 6-7 tinted cars and I've never been told 2 weeks. Nor to have my AC on feet only. I think nothing of the AC on feet suggestion and leave everything on auto as I usually have it. I leave the shop, and maybe a 30 minute drive later, I stop and get gas. I notice the back window tint is already peeling. I return the next day. His excuse was, "you must have the AC blasting". I've never in my life heard of AC affecting new tint. The dumbest thing I've ever heard. He re-tints the back window. I stupidly take his advice and adjust my AC accordingly. I even turn off the AC completely on the passenger side. And again, as soon as I pull in my driveway, peeling again. After the initial job, I returned 2 times

I call the shop and speak to the manager. He says bring it back and he'll personally tint the window himself. I tell him you should have stepped in when I brought it back the first time and I don't have time to come back over and over. And that I'll have another shop tint it. I ask for a partial refund. He agrees to zelle me $80, still haven't received it. I'll give them a full 24 hours before I leave bad reviews everywhere that I can.

Yeah, two weeks is BS, and the AC thing is also BS. Sounds like he was trying to be a dick honestly.

I've never seen any reputable shop using that film that stayed in buisness without switching off of it and doing a bunch of warranty work. Absolute bs about the a/c.

Dispute the charges and find someone using a name brand, ie: Xpel, Global, Llumar or 3M.

Take it back there again at your own peril. Looks like you got lucky that there's no vehicle damage from those clowns. :twocents

Thank you. I happened to find another shop that was open on a Sunday. They removed it before it dried too much and re tinted it with Johnson film and it's not peeling this time.

I wish I found this forum before.

I asked for the partial refund again and surprisingly I did get it. The owner swore up and down that this has never happened before and they do 10-15 cars a day. I was calm about the whole thing and he welcomed me to return for other services. I wouldn't go back if it was free. But look what I found...
