Hey my fellow tint dudes … I’ve already gone thru about 40 ft of film on this 1960 impal rear glass …. I’m getting ready to send the car to the crusher 🤣

can anyone shed some light on how to tint these windows … it’s not necessary the curve of these windows for so the chrome trim stands off about 1/2 inch off the glass so the film can’t lay flat for shrinking! Any tips

When I do ones like that I shrink as close as I can to the trim and then finish the rest on the inside.  If done correctly there won't be that many fingers to deal with on the inside.  Cover a hard card in a non-scratch paper towel and shrink what is there after install.

Normally you would work from the corners and push the slack towards the middle , in the case is it safe to say to work around the fingers and lay what I can lay on the outside and finish the rest inside? @Bham

Lay the film on the glass, overlap top or bottom, mark the edges carefully with a marker,  shrink whichever part halfway.  Then lift the film off and move it a little to shrink the other part.  Then you can trim the film to size or a little large.

Should be good to go from there.  Hit a little heat on the final install if needed.
