2019+ Silverado 1500 (new body style)

Pretty much everything is changed on these new ones but overall they're still pretty easy. If you like to pull sweeps and bottom load you do have to remove the whole panel, can't just pop the top anymore. There are five(5) seven millimeter screws that have to be removed to pull the panel. One behind the handle, two behind the pull, and two at the bottom. The cover for the pull has to be removed starting from the front as there is a large tab that fits into the panel at the rear. See the attached pictures. The bevel on the glass is different than most and I had to adjust the angle of my razor blade several times to get a good shaved edge on it, was unexpectedly a pain in the ass so make sure your top cut is clean or be prepared to spend more time than normal shaving. No pictures of it overall, damn things are so ugly that I was afraid of breaking my camera :lol

So is the top not clipped like the pervious?  How is it along the sweep area?

Nope hooks over deep like the new Traverse does. The front comes off fairly easily but when you get to the handle area it's too stiff to flex enough to clear. I feel like you could roll it off but you'd never get it back on.

Back when we did cars... there were very few vehicuthat we ever removed the door panon..very few.. why not just learn how to do it with out disassembling the car ?

I'm fully capable of installing with the panels on and there are some vehicles out there that I choose to do so on...very few though...very few

I feel that as an installer you should be comfortable and familiar with as many techniques as possible, what's most effective for one person or vehicle may not be for another. I pull the seal on probably 95-98% of the vehicles I do, some require panel removal while others just pull back. For me it's quicker and cleaner to do so and less risk to the panel itself than with gasket wizards/shields. I'm merely putting the information out there for those who want to approach it this way. I come from a body shop background so pulling panels is nothing new to me and I don't hesitate to do so. I can in turn pass on the pertinent information to make it easier for others who wish to do so but might otherwise be intimidated on a new model like this.
