Hello

I have been driving my car for 4+ years.

Recently decided to tint my two front windows at 20%.  (Back ones were already tinted at 35%)

After the tint, I get a reflection of my dashboard displayed on the tinted window right where my side-mirrors are and it is very distracting when driving (see links of the pics at the bottom).

 

You guys think replacing those 20% tints with 35% would solve the issue? or do I need to remove the entire tint?

I'm also thinking of going back to the shop and having them cut a small part of the tint where the side mirrors are (I know it would look silly but better than risking getting into an accident).

 

Does anyone else have this issue?

What is the cause of this reflection?

 

Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

The reflection is there even without window tint, it is just more noticeable now because you made the windows darker.  Going up to the 35% will make it less noticeable than the 20%, but it still will be greater than it was without the window tint.

      Looks like the side was heated up to fix imperfections. You really only want to heat 2-3 seconds at time, not 30 seconds like above.

      Hello professional tint installers and everyone else, I need your upmost help in solving this problem. I just got my brand new car tinted and after a few days I noticed this on my driver side door panel. Is this damage caused by the tint installer? Heat damage? I had ceramic tint installed. I should’ve done a better job looking at every little detail on my car after the work but I was preoccupied. What could this be? Please help! The cars only 2 weeks old.

      I just realized this forum might be only for the professional tinter. I'm a DIY'er and was hoping to get some expert advice on selecting the best "home product" to apply to my windows on my home in order to reduce/control the heat coming through the windows. If this is not allowed, maybe someone can point me in the right direction for DIY. Thank you!
