New to Tinting, Where to buy, any tips?

Hello ALL!!

I'm looking at trying to break ground in the industry to first start cars as a side job when I move to Houston and attend school. After school my goal is to open up a "motorsports" shop with one of the services of tinting! Just this last week I did my first window, it was frameless, Is a frameless window any harder than a "framed" one? it isn't perfect it but I'm satisfied with it being my first completed window and i'm satisfied especially since cars are my biggest passion! Right now  I'm going to do my wives car along with 4-5 vehicles of ppl from work if they go through with it, I'm only taking "generous tips" so no reason they shouldn't? This leads me to my next issue. Where to buyand how much should it cost for film? Currently Im using Metro restyling which is were I got my vinyl for my car which is a total pain and didn't even finish the project sadly. But metro restyling is about my only option that I have found  to purchase film (Solarguard). From what I've read or seen in the past they are pretty good brand. I appreciate the help!

welcome to the forum theres so many different films on the market , are you serious about learning to tint or just as a add on to another business , I would give solar fx a try herad lots of good things and good pricing , hes a member oin this forum solargard is a good film but you can find other films that can outperform with a lower price , good luck and be patient its gonna be a long journey

Thank you, I'll check into that brand, and absolutely wanting to learn it.

I prolly can help you learn faster, easier, cleaner ways to get the job done. Sometimes when learning you get good at doing windows the hard way..... Life is short and we have enough frustrations! Check out my training from the links on my signature.

Welcome to the forum, lots of great people and information here. The search button is your friend :twocents

If all door glass were frameless,,there would be way more tinters

If manufacturer's would stop training people so they can sell they're film to them there would be waaayy less tinters.
