Just had my 2016 Civic Sedan tinted.. unhappy with window gap and fro

Just had my 2016 Civic Sedan tinted this past Saturday..    It's been 48+ hours so I thought i'd crack the windows to admire what a $410 tint job should be like and noticed some pretty lazy looking window gaps..  About 1/8" on all 4 windows except for the drivers side which looks pretty decent..    The rear window looks good despite there being a dot matrix.  This was Formula One Pinnacle on these windows.

Front window was done in AirBlue 80 and noticing there's these little imperfections. they don't really look like bubbles but look more like what dust/dirt would look like trapped under the tint..   If they were directly in my line of sight I wouldn't really bother getting upset over it..

So I call the local shop here in Jax, FL and the guy who tinted my car gets on my phone saying "I kind of remember your car" from Saturday and that he's NEVER heard of anybody complain about window gaps and being unhappy with them..   Says he CANT tint to the edge because my door seals are so tight it would cause problems after 30 days and I would have to get my tint redone..   He says he can't go to the edge because of the lifetime warranty?

I've had all of my cars tinted (by a different shop) up until now and the previous shop which uses all 3M Crystalline for their top end has always gone to the edge..    Thought i'd save about $100 by trying Formula One Pinnacle and this is what I got from this shop..  And disgusted by the way the guy acted like I was crazy for not liking his job..

Now i'm sure a lot of unknowing consumers have their tint done by him and have no idea what to look for or complain about.

End of the conversation, he says come back in a week to let the front windshield dry and settle so they can look at it.

Is it true about the window gap required for lifetime warranty on Llumar?  I've never heard of such a thing.. Sounds like he's trying to get rid of me.

The best thing to do is take photos of the problems you are seeing and posting here.

There should be a slight gap which we call micro edging the window.  If you go to the complete edge there is a chance the film can be pulled up by closing your window.  This is done by letting the film overhang the glass and then shaved using a file.  Some people do this method, but usually charge more it and once again there is a chance of it coming back up.

All 4 windows here..  Couldn't get any good pics of the weirdness on the front windshield.

I find the first pic to be the closest to the edge and the others are all different (which is annoying me)

I feel like the pics don't exaggerate it as much as it should.   Looks worse in person..  especially the back right rear.

Yeah, those are horrible.  They need to redo them.  There is another Formula One shop in Ocala...they are a member on here.

Oh but i'm the only person apparently to complain about this to them and they've tinted thousands in Jax.. Lol

For what you paid I'd be upset too. There shouldn't be any excuses as to why the film wasn't taken up closer to the edge, as for the contamination under the film, you'll always have some as there's no such thing as a "perfect" tint job but there is a such thing as a near perfect job. Most contamination can be pushed or smashed out, unless there is a cluster of dust in an area, hair and or creases then that's a redo in my book. Hopefully they take care of you if not you may have to drive to another Formula dealer and have them take care of you.
