Is Global QDP Ceramic dyed?

I've actually been using global qdp ceramic for a while and was under the assumption that it is not a "dyed" film, but was told by a film rep from another manufacturer that it is.

Anyone know for sure?

Howard, are you out there?

Thanks in advance everyone!

He doesn't get up here that often anymore. Definitely be faster just to call. Do share the informant though once you get it.

Hello guys,

To address your question, the QDP Ceramic film base layer is a Deep Dyed polyester (the same base layer as the tried and true, worlds hottest regions tested, QDP film) This is done to get the colorization of the VLT's into the film. The Nano-Ceramic material is deposited into the film during the lamination process.

I hope this answers your question.

The QDP ceramic is the same film as the QDP with the ceramic layer being added. That is why it's 2 mil thick.

Majority of Ceramic window films will be Dyed which is not a bad thing.  Huper Optik would be one of the few which I would assume also has to do with them being the only patented one too.

Thanks everyone, you guys are awesome. I really appreciate your input and it sounds like you know your stuff about ceramic films.

I should have guessed qdp ceramic is the same base film as regular qdp (which I know is a good film).

So, the film rep was correct.
