I was tinting an 03 dodge crew cab for a guy today and I had tinted the back glass and had just finished the rear drivers side door and was moving to the other back door. while I was cleaning the back passenger door, I noticed he was on the drivers side "checking things out". then he says this, "There's some pretty big bubbles in this window". I was like, "yeah right". so I go over and look at the back glass and don't see any; no trash, no bubbles, NOTHING. I said "where?" he says "right here on this one, they're everywhere" pointing to the drivers glass. I looked at him and smiled and said, "I haven't tinted that glass yet".

you think he is dumb. I had a customer one time drop his car off to get 35% all the way around. I told him it would be a couple of hours. I had a car infront of him. so he leaves comes back an hour and a hlf later. while im cleaning off the outside of the glass. to get ready to start cutting. he walks in and says man does it look good. I laughed right in his face

First the little turd calls me and asked about warranty information. Then he calls back and tells me I tinted it and he needed something redone. I asked him if he was the original owner and had the receipt and Warranty card and he said YES he had all the papers, but His Dad had had it done and had given him the car. Close enough, I thought... cause I'm such a softy for teenagers. So he makes an appointment. He shows up and starts telling me the guys at another tint shop told him where I was located. A flicker here of doubt in the back of my mind....hmmm... What was he doing at another tint shop....How come his Dad didn't tell him where I was if he'd had it done ? Not enough evidence yet. And I believe my customers are honest until proven otherwise...Then as I'm fixing to hop out of the back seat from removing the film, I notice two strips of tape residue from what I KNOW from experience was an "As is No Warranty" used car lot sticker on the tint on one of the back door glasses. I'd already stripped the back glass, but it still had adhesive on it. I asked him nonchalantly if I could see the receipt to see what shade was on it originally. He starts digging around in the glove compartment. I stood there waiting and said if he couldn't find it that I wouldn't be able to do the work because I needed the receipt and Warranty card to send in to be paid from the Manufacturer. He finally gives up and says he can't find it. But can't I do it anyway ? I said in my most motherly tone..." :lol You didn't get this car from your Dad, did you ? You bought it off a used car lot and here you are trying to make me do something for nothing. I am not Walmart." I reamed his little butt some more, still not completely certain my instinct was right but that tape residue really bugged me....and then out of nowhere he admitted it was not his Dads and I was right. And asked how much would I charge to finish it. I told him and he said he'd be right back with the cash. yeah suuuuure you will...I'll never see your scrawney ass again... but about 15 minutes later here he comes with the cash. The first thing he did when he got out was to appologize to me about the dirty trick he'd tried to pull.

Has brought me several other people since too.

I was scared TD. Seriously. Hoping I wasn't wrong the whole time but something just told me he was trying to pull a fast one. And I am not a confrontational person. ostridge.gif I call it my Ostridge Syndrome...
