how to make tint slide when it doesnt slide?

Recommended Posts

im pretty sure there was a thread about thise recently but I couldnt find it. so basically I will get random cars with some sort of coating(maybe anti-fog or rain-x) that wont allow me to slide the tint around on the inside of the window. is there a way to remove this? it makes the slip just bead off the window maming it nearly impossible to slide around into position.

Wurth glass cleaner + scrub pad normally removes most of it. Use extra slip and the best way to keep it from sticking is by not stopping your movement and use very gentle hands. Once you break it loose just keep moving until you are set.

Zaino Brothers Z-12 Glass Polish @ zainostore.com

There is a coating used on many Lexus and a couple Toyota models that is an anti-fog, self cleaning glass. It is a titanium dioxide coating that takes a couple go overs with glass polish to get film to slide.

Also, on older vehicles when this occurs it is from hydrocarbon build up the weather-strip deposits over time.

You can spot trouble before laying the film up by the beading of your water when the glass surface is first sprayed.

I don't do this but some people smack the window with a little force to get the film to come loose....

After smacking and breaking free there are marks left behind on the film.. Sometimes they go away after the film cures...and sometimes they don't.. You guys get this at all?
