I would just like to say hello, and introduce myself, as a new sponsor of the tintdude Aussie forum. My name is Michael Miller and I am a window tinter with quite a number of years experience, and I am the trade representative to our existing trade cutomers at Glass Tinting Supplies. Many of you would have received quotes via our independent tinting network which is run via www.windowtint.com.au .

This system was set up to utilies the 1 thing that independent window tinting business' had to their advantage over the larger M1 owned franchises... The power of numbers! Alone independent window tinting business' have little chance of growing and thriving in Aus, but by creating a network of independents, we can create a way for customers looking for a window tinting business in their local area, to find a business that is not contracted to a franchise an hence contracted to use that franchise owners products.

I would love to include any independently run window tinting business professional to please contact me and allow me to build you a page inside our professional window tinters directory, we currently have around 420 listings thus far, but I fear that there may be those of you out there that would like to be involved, but I haven't been able to reach as yet. Please just email me at info@windowtint.com.au and I will build your listing page as soon as I possibly can. We will never.. ever... ask for money, or force products your way, I have spent thousands of unpaid hours, and a large amount of money building these directories because I have been given much from the window tinting industry, and I dream that we can see some balance restored.

I am also playing a roll in finding work for window tinters in need of employment, and finding tinters for independent business' seeking skilled window film installers. So please contact me if you believe that I can help.

We can make the industry strong again, but I believe that we will need to work together.

I would like to thank Michael for all of his time and effort he has spent on this website "www.windowtint.com.au"

I have received 2 requests for quotes in the last month from customers who have visited his site, not bad considering it's only been online for 5-6 weeks.

I think we can all help each other by adding his web address to our advertising, if I'm in parramatta and a customer from there reads the web address and requests a quote, up to 6 local parramatta independent tint businesses will be sent a text/email to quote, if one of those businesses are in my area doing a job and someone local to me requests a quote, I will receive the text/email to quote.

We can all help each other out by advertising windowtint.com.au.

Please remember this service is free for all of us independent window tinters.

Thanks Boys!! Makes it really worth the effort when I hear that... It is just the start... The foundations are set, and the results will show in the coming weeks and months. SEO (Search engine optimization) and social media will start in around 2 weeks. Fingers crossed.. Hi again all,

I just wanted to let you guys that have an interest in this forum topic know that we have setup a Facebook page for Glass Tinting Supplies. I am not a regular Facebooker, but I am told that it will help to grow awareness to the independent network. So it would be gratefull if the guys involved could "like" us. Then it may generate interest Aus wide and in turn produce more enquiries for independent window tinting business'.

Facebook? Does anybody even use it? What ever happened to the telephone? Or a letter? Or a the Ham radio? Or smoke signals?

It was a pleasure to talk to you the other day Michael. It is always good to compare notes with a knowledgeable 'independant' and not get force fed some company line.

Had my first quote come through within the hour after registering with you.

More power to you Michael for taking a stand against the multi - nationals.

Darren, it is people like you exactly that make me work harder and longer each day!! I just wish all of the guys were are warm to approach as you. Who can blame them, anything that has ever been done for installers has come with a catch.. There is lots of good things to come, and I will keep you posted..

I just want to say guys, there is a high demand right now for good installers, so there is no need to underprice your skills. Just talk to your tinting neighbour and say "Let's not sell ourselves short".

Lets have the best summer ever, and feel good about the tinting industry again...
