First of all guys, great site, great community, looks very professional and friendly,so please take my questions with a pinch of salt !

How do you find window felt bleeding contamination to be kept to a minimum ? (I.e vauxhall astra H 5 doors)

I cant get round it 100%

Does anyone else struggle with thumb marks when installing after holding the corners to apply ?

Would latex gloves be any good ?

May sound like daft questions but keep cropping up with the same issues a lately !

Please be gentle, what may be simple solutions to one man is another mans achilles heel !

Many many thanks in advance guys !

Welcome to the forum.

There are 2 main ways to deal with felt seals, either use masking tape (felt must be dry) or make sure they are flushed top to bottom. Always apply the film edges flat onto the glass and slide it behind the seals.

Always have a clean bucket of soapy water about to clean and wet your hands, never touch film with dry or dirty hands.

Hope this helps :thumb

Why are you touching the film adhesive side after pulling the liner? Run your hands under the film on the peel board and lay it on the backs of your hands.. I've never touched the adhesive side ever?

I find masking tape comes of when it gets wet. I use duct tape. Before wetting the window, wind the window down all the way and apply duct tape down the side channels and fold around onto the frame.

wind window up and carry on with your cutting & cleaning.

If installing your roll downs by tucking the duct tape in the channels also acts as a lubricant when raising the glass before you tuck the base and helps reduce the risk of getting creases .

As above I never touch the adhesive. If you must spray slip onto your fingers.

Thanks guys,great !

I use masking tape but never get a 90% + contamination free instal.

I will try and lay back from the peel board but when I do mobile I peel from the car and sometimes have to grab the corners, thats why I touch the corners/adhesive.

But,having said that, thats why I got onto here for a bit of help improving !

Appreciation for your replys.
