what are car tint made of?

PET has been around since the 40's.

I think you are confused because they mention glue dyed films. The color of the film is in the adhesive They are extremely cheap and in my opinion garbage. Not worth using as a trash bag.

Overseas companies are heavily promoting high IR reducing films. You might be lucky to find a 50% film that is thermosafe. That also includes their "ceramic" line. Sputtered films are priced about the same as what you find in the US. I have yet to find an auto that I like.

However I have found some very good anti graffiti films. I do not know about the performance of their security films.

To be honest, buying overseas takes some work. You have the expense of shipping unless you are capable of purchasing a container load. Unless you pay for overnight which takes two days, you product will take weeks to arrive You have to fund the purchase prior to ship, hoping they ship. Getting responses from them takes at least 24 hours. Most of the time it will take days. What do you do about warranty issues? We are talking about someone from another country selling you a product.

Just because all films start with PET, they are not created equal.
