recommendations: tint that blocks the most heat without being too noti

What's your opinion on a tint that blocks the most heat while not being too noticeable or dark? In other words, a light tint with maximum heat rejection. I realize there is give and take on this, but your input would be appreciated. The project is a unit in a residential skyrise in So. California.

Was thinking of something along the lines of Suntek ULVDS 70 or 50, thoughts?

I'd avoid the IR dyed products. :twocents

If you can get your hands on a Spectral Select film like our Huper Sech or Drei, they both have great light transmission and really ice SHGC #'s also 72" max widths. VK-70 is another good option w/ 72" capacity. Not sure if Hilite 70 is dye-free but it has some good numbers. If you are doing Sout/SW/West exposures then drop down to the 35% if you can afford to go that dark. :twocents

It looks like Panorma Hilite 70 has better specs then the ULVDS. Anyone have experience with these? Scratch coat not so great on the ULVDS?

I have some Hilite 70 on my house and like it. I install SunTek on houses all the time and haven't scratched any yet. I will say the Hilite is a helluva lot thicker than the ULVDS. I would guess 4 or 5 times thicker at least.
