Sales is an interesting game, just like being a great installer it takes time and an effort to become the best.

Just remember, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

So true.. and your very new to the game I take it with only a yr experience...I get a lot of calls too and only get 25% if that actually getting there car done...The people that I actually see without have a apt. I get around 75% I would say...The people calling I think aren't really ready to have there car done...

But try this...Give them a quote for the cheaper/cheapest film you carry and when they show up for there apt. mention a different upsale product. Might work or it might not...But you will get more in the door...And remember just be professional cause a lot of people out there think we are shady people...Or that is what people think around here...

Thank you. I will give it a try.

I start by pricing my mid grade film first. Then inform them that I have a cheaper film that is still a good film. It just doesn't block as much heat as the mid grade, and if the custy likes my mid grade price. I give them the option of upgrading to a higher end film with max heat rejection. Not very many go for the upgrade. I sell 9 out of 10 cars my mid grade line. Seems to work for me.

As stated before, a lot of people calling are just shopping around and not necessarily ready to have their vehicle tinted right away. I think the problem is you need to do more advertising to get more people calling and coming in...10-15 calls a week is very low. Obviously call/customer volume can vary based on the area, but we receive 10-15 calls every 2 hours about tint. We have only been doing tint since January. A lot of shops around me simply sit back and wait for customers to come in and maybe do 5 cars a week when we do 30+. The tint industry is all about reputation, reviews and word of mouth, but when you are newer to the game and don't have that reputation, you need to give potential customers a reason to choose you. So you just need to get out there more and make sure people know who you.

we offer a good, better, best for our film line up. We sell different films for each. Good is Global QDP, better is Suntek Carbon, Best is Llumar CTX. The good price gets them to the door or gets them to call, but we upsell about 80% of our customers based on our knowledge and experience. Confidence is a big plus. Also, call around to some of your competetion and see how they answer their phones, sell, etc. Some shops will be very professional, some won't be. Take notes if the shops have been around for 5 years or more :)
