TintDude
I voted sample, at least enough to shrink it out on a rear window.

Yeah same here...I like to get a feel for how it shrinks and if its a aggressive adhesive and so on..
RockyDaz
Always a sample - pref enuff to do a full car, good for returning favors to people and at the same time you get to see how it shrinks and handles.
Tinitman
How do you make a decision on just one installation? Is that all it takes to change your brand, one test install? In all my years of installing film I never received a "free" roll of film. My belief is that you need to look at many things when deciding on changing a brand. Just because one back glass went well, what will happen on a different back glass? It usually takes a couple of installations to modify you method of installing procedures with a different material. Different films have different characteristics on how they form. You cannot determine that on just one install. What about customer support? Product availability? Marketing materials? Longevity of the film? Percentages of warranty claims throughout the years? What is the history of the manufacturer? Is it a manufacturer or private label? How do you make a smart business decision with one installation?

How do you make a smart business decision with one installation? Its not all based on one install in my opinion, but you can tell with one install if you like the way it feels or you just want to walk away from it. Customer Service and your other questions takes a longer time to know how true or bad it is...Anyone can act like the best dealer for a couple months or so until there true colors come out. You still take a gamble on that stand point...I have been using certain films for a long time now and I still find little things from time to time that help me out.... And any product can change pretty quick...a example is a film started to scratch a lot easier now and I wont name that film cause I dont believe in bad mouthing any film and there are other examples out and for whatever reason after years of being a really great film that many based there company on and stood behind that product just slowly went down hill.... And it wouldn't be a quick change, I would offer both products to my customers telling them that I have a new product that I just started to stock, telling them the different specs on both of them. And I would slowly change over to the other film. It's a hard decision but when you are running into issues with the current film you are using and it is affecting your business or making your customers not as happy anymore you have to make a change no matter how hard/bad/smart and iffy of a decision it might be.
