Stretch-ability!

After working almost exclusively with the Suntek film for the past 6-8 months, I gotta say that working with any other film is a bit like trying to fold cardboard around a car's front end...

To you other manufacturers (All, but specifically Avery, cause I think I'll offer Suntek & Avery), Is it a difficult or easy thing to increase the flexibility, stretch, etc of your films? I know that some of the installers that work with pre-cut kits like some stiffness to your films, but I would wonder if there is a happy middle ground that would allow for a pattern to be easily weeded, while allowing bulk installers to do their thing.

Maybe I'm the only that likes the super-stretch..? :dunno

Oh your not Alone Norm. Suntek has set the bar as to whats to be excepted out of the future of PPF . Just like window tint from years ago time only proves things do get better with time, in most cases.

It has proven itself for installation. I have only used a few rolls of 24 and I have some clients think that it has a matte finish compared to the xpel. Does anyone else get this? When the car is done in all suntek its not noticeable, but you cannot mix the two products otherwise it does standout.

I tried suntek. I have to say their first rolls were amazing then we noticed they changed to a different gen of PPF and most of the rolls had clear coat problems and it wasn't as good as their first gen. If you stretch suntek it won't peel back but it will shrink back(not sure if I make sense or not). How do I know? I applied the ppf to my own car and noticed this after 3 months. Remember only time tells with new ppf. We went back to 3M

I've seen an occasional matte area on some rolls I've gotten, but 90% look good to me. I ran a heat gun over the one or two that have had that finish, and it smoothed away nicely.

suntek ppf sucks....

Why dont you elaborate a little??? Have you even tried it or just in here talking trash about a product you dont use?

Norm if you run into a stretch that seems to have a little dullnesss to it I have found it will go away when the car is parked in the sun or you can hit it with a heat gun real quick and it clears up. The self healing capabilities will clear it right up.

Tint Tech I isntalled a full front end on a GT3 a week ago in Suntek It was very easy and looked really good once it was finished. After that I installed a 3M kit he had already purchsed for his Ducati and I tell you what, the 3M film is the worst garbage I have ever even attempted to install. It was like card board and had a LOT of orange peel to it. On the red bike I could tell it was on there 10' away. I would never consider 3M, EVER. Not only is their service lacking but their film is pretty crappy.... orange peel, doesnt hold up in hot weather climates, and when removed almost all the adhesive stays with the paint. And did I mention it was a PITA to install??? There are too many films out there that are head and shoulders better than 3M... IMHO. Xpel, Suntek, and Avery Nano to name a few.
