Any one tried Lexan windshiled protection film from Lamin-X ?

Hey guys

Ever tried Lexan windshield protection film from Lamin-X ?

I mean these rolls:

I know that lamin-x offer good headlights protection film, but what about this windshield solution ?

Does it compare (in quality and performance) to clearplex ?

I tried to send them an email asking, but they dont seem to be answering

I just called them. Besides the fact that the guy didn't seem to know much about it, even though they've been selling it for 5 years, it appears to be temporary tear-offs.

the only thing I know that has lexan shields are NASCAR and home made buggies ...

don't forget DB drag cars. Almost all their glass is lexan.

I would think not very much. The whole problem with selling windsheild products is they get replaced alot.

very true. here in MA, the state mandates complete coverage by the insurance companies. So if there is a need for windshield replacement, there is never a deductable. so the consumer would never have to worry about their windshield or having to pay a dime to replace or protect it.

I received a lexan windshield protection film sample in A4 size today.

It claims is a 5 mil thick protection film, but is softer than CP (which just 4 mil). The CP has a better clarity.

It seems much easier to install than CP, anyhow I don't have a full size film for testing.

who doesn't have full glass coverage? Hit the wipers two or three times and the product is trashed.

the point is how fast the lexan windshield protection film will scratch by the wiper. CP with the scratch resistance, still will have scratches.

my concern is clarity and the impact resistance. So far they couldn't provide any data on the impact resistance.
