Guest RegSKTinter
Blah! Having trouble with contamination was wondering if you guys could share ways that you clean side windows/ how you install I work at a corporately owned uni-glass plus ziebart and the shop is fairly dusty plus I am working close to a detailer and graphics installers. I have done everything I can think of, Keeping the doors closed cleaning the shop floor on a regular basis cleaning the windows multiple times, peeling and making the install as fast as I can to no avail! My trainer works for parasol canada and has told me that the work I am putting out although it might have a few dust specks (20 or less) is within industry standards, is that a fact, are some dust specks acceptable? It's so frustrating I feel like I could spend the whole day trying to get one car to look perfect, anyway any tips / advice from you tint pimps would be SO SO SO helpful! Thank you! One Frustrated Canadian!

McCoyH
We detail and do our auto tint in the same shop. We found a "canopy" off an RV (one that retracts off the side) and ran it down the middle in between the two bays. That way dust from detailing doesnt get over to the tint side as easy. TintWizard
For starters in a nutshell : distilled water for solutions, clean lint free cloths for wiping / squeegeeing. Little to no air circulation . Change filters for heating and a/c if applicable . Tape for felt . Cover up seats / rear deck

My old boss told me he would give me 5 bucks for every spec I find on his window. He wish he never made that bet.
TintWizard
I'd give up my business and go coast to coast inspecting all the self proclaimed perfect tint jobs with that deal
coast2coasttinting
the least I have ever been able to get in one single window was 2 tiny specs. I have done this a few times, but my normal work will have 3 to 15 specs in it. depending on what windows it is, were the specs are located in the window, and the condition of the car. I have sort of a grading system I hold myself to. Each window starts as a possible 100 score, deduct 1 point for every tiny spec in the window. All windows that score below an 85 get redone unless it is a older dirty car or truck. Also any bullseyes, and light gaps get redone
