Blocking UV

Recommended Posts

Came upon another interesting customer, He's a "scientist" and was doing work on his van when he brought up that all glass already blocks 90% of UV rays already and that window films dont block UV and that all they do is block light and heat. He claims that any normal glass blocks most uv and that people dont need the film clear UV shield to prevent rays and that is a marketing scheme. I did not have the energy to waste my time with this guy and go on about our films and getting techincal, however he ended up tinting his van all around with 70%. But it did got me thinking if this fellow was right? for all you smarties on here.Sure miss vclimber.

My brand new Ford Fusion blocked 70% of UV before I tinted it.

If you sell SolarGard get some of our UV test cards, they show a visual. I have a dealer who KILLS it with folks who say "No, I don't need those windows tinted they are new dual pane windows they block everything" He takes that UV card to the window, shows them its not filtering UV and he gets more windows. Every time.

If you don't sell SG , what is the best non disposable UV unit out there for this demo? This would be a great way to move AIR80 for SUV owners that have children in the back. Instead of tinting just the 2 front doors, you could get the while vehicle just like the old days
