DO you let employees take advantage of you ? I go out of my way to help employees , keep them in the winter advance them cash and in the end they have no loyalty or quit with out notice . I really need to put my business first and be more strict with them and feel no commitment to them . Now I know why so many people have 1 man shop it sucks managing people .

Very impressive sir.

Anyhow, not only is dealing with attitudes and non-compete issues with employees, chits expensive... You're lucky if you can find a payroll system for less than $99/month, plus you gatta pay into workmans comp and everything else... plus have them on your insurance...

Guest T4Tint

now I'm working for my dad, it's a family business, but if one day my dad retire, I don't think I can find another non family member to work for me.

Most of peoples now are expecting high pay and don't want to start from bottom up.

I've always found my best workers from either sporting clubs/ churches/ groups that you are involved with ... gives you a chance to check them out before employing them. Had a good tinter stay with me for 10 years once and another at the same time for 6 ... makes for a good team and doesnt hurt so much when some short timer leaves unexpectedly
