Photochromic Window Films now in the UK

For all you Flat Glass installers we have recently become sole UK suppliers of Illume window films and are ready to start setting up dealers.

Illume window film is a Ceramic film with Photochromic Technology which changes in Visible Light Transmission by up to 20% depending on sun exposure.

Spec as follows - this is based on the 70R (reflective)

Total Solar Energy Trans - 30%

Total Solar Energy Reflected - 37%

Total Solar Absorbed - 42%

Total Solar Rejected - 65%

Infra-red - 98%

Visible Light Trans - 56% - 71%

Visible Light Reflectance - 11% - 18%

Glare Reduction - 39%

UV - 99%

U-Value (W/m2K) - 4.9

Shading Coefficient - 0.43

The range of films are - 50, 60, 70, 80, 50R, 60R & 70R

NDFOS has also two variants; reflective and non reflective for 70. A common customer complaint is the slow rate of VLT change as compared, unlike spectacle transition lens. Will your reflective version example change VLT faster than NDFOS's reflective version?

The product is very similar. Ours also takes 20-30mins to change in VLT - there was an earlier film that was on test which changed within minutes but the life expectancy was very short.
