I hope I don't break any rules by posting this, just showcase of dry shrink.

Hopefully it will help someone. Feel free to ask any questions. It's Volkswagen Phaeton, glass is really similar to A8 aswell.

I see where you could save some time on your wet check. Since you are dry shrinking you really don't need to wet check.

Just force fingers up where you know they'd appear and shrink them down until you can't easily force one up.

Though I'd never wet check that way (I'd crease the &%$# out of it. As long as it works for you keep it up!) I know why you do it at all. It's all about getting the final cut nice and close. When I had to hand cut all my back glasses I did the same thing, way easier to see! Hell even with Pcut I sill have to every once in a while.

Good on ya brother! Make that PAPER! :money

On a side note, try a glove. Your most valuable tools are your hands and you only get two.

I shrink my film differently. I hardly burn my hands at all. back glass's like that I would shrink out the whole bottom before touching it with my hand or card. heat the bottom edge of any remaining puckers until flat. Then repeat on the top half of the window. Once it is smooth. All I ret are the 4 corners to hold it in place.

If you look carefully I barely put my hand in front of gun, when I am pressing film, gun heads up. I normally shrink faster I just wanted to have some nice movie usable for newcomers, got CLS shrunk in 4min dry and wet, but I must admit, I don't care about time, I care about quality. Today I said the guy that VW transporter will be made in 3 hours, ofc it was done in 90 min, but I always take more time to avoid pressure.

I use glove, not so often but I do, got pink :)

and about that work bench, I am trying to avoid that, but you barely teach old dog new trick, it's bad habit I am trying unlearn.
