Global Window Films

Recommended Posts

been using global's qdp on some of my installations for awhile now and never had issues. heck got it on 2 of my own cars and been installed for years and no issues. this week had 2 customer contact me with back glass film problems. one is bubbled around the defogger lines and film edge pretty bad. about a year old. the other has a textured look to it. almost a frosted film texture. also on the back glass. only a few months old. all other windows on these cars are ok and pulled from the same rolls during install. anyone know what might be causing this or had trouble with global at all? can you get a "bad" roll from time to time? never had this happen before.

Who is your distributor? Do you know that Garware offloaded a very big warehouse of window films to some vendors in India at dirt cheap price, earlier this year? According to my sources, QDP was also in the warehouse. Now there are some tinting controls in India which turned their market upside down and there are indications that export is the only way out for these vendors stucked with the inventory.

Only buy from authorised distributors for Global for the time being.

Hi Tintshopky,

If you have a minute to email me that roll number, I can find out everything about it. howard@buytint.com

We have yet to process a longevity related claim on that product.

I have also never had any problems before and been buying this product since 2008. Heck, its on 2 of my cars since then. Had 2 calls back to back in the same week with back glass issues. And I've never had this happen before. One with a "frosty" look and the other with bubbled defogger lines. I started to worry but honestly after a thousand installs with this product and only 2 or 3 issues, I should probably count my blessings. I have changed distributors although not recently. I'm gonna keep buying it for now. I like how it installs and the color. And like I said no prior issues at all. Which is what has kept me purchasing so far. If I hear of any new issues I will update the thread. But for now I will just set back and see how it goes. Thanks for the replies. Hope all is well for everyone. I hadn't been on in awhile.

Recently had a roll from a friend I was helping that had a quarter sized red/white spot right in the middle of it. I didn't get to see the rest of the as I just banged out that car and went about my business. Been using it whenever I tint cars for them, not super impressed.
