Can you do anything to improve your sleeping??

Recommended Posts

All of my life I've always been a light sleeper... Noise, or light, wake me up. I generally don't have any problems falling asleep, but I wake up during the night most nights for one reason or another, and if I wake up anywhere near when it's time to get up, odds are I won't be able to fall back to sleep.

I have room darkening shades in my bedroom to try and keep it as dark as possible, which works alright.

Oddly enough, it's not that hard for me to take a nap during the day on the sofa where it's bright as anything.... or if I'm at the beach I can fall asleep and it's bright as heck there. lol

I've tried taking OTC stuff... no help.

Any suggestions?? I do all the normal things they say to do... no caffeine... I don't have a TV in my bedroom.... etc.

I need white noise to sleep, so I have a fan beside the bed to take car of that. I heard somewhere the other day that if it takes you longer than 20 minutes to get to sleep, you should get up and read something. They said that tends relax a person to help them sleep. Then there is always ... :bat ....:dunno

I have problems falling asleep, staying asleep, and then waking up after I am asleep. I got some melatonin pills off the shelf at walmart. Fixed all 3 problems.its what your body naturally produces to put you to sleep and get you into your deep deep sleep youre supposed to get. Then you wake up with no problem feeling refreshed... look them up and try them. I think theyre only like $6 and their just sitting on the shelf at walmart. Purple bottle. Worth a try

Just like with a baby, fall sleep with noise in the background that way noise won't bother why sleeping. If it's dead silent when you go to sleep, hell yeah any little noise will wake you. Trust me, I'm like a sleep expert :thumb
