Have any of you ever used one of those tinting classes? I have never tinted, but would like to learn. It is worth investing money in, as I would like to create a business of this down the road.

Thanks for the help guys,

Mike

not really worth the money. You learn the BASICS on spic-and-span glass. You will learn better in the real world. Get a job in a tint shop just cleaning up and watching, and ease into it. Save the cash.

Welcome to the boards T*T,

I'm 50/50 on the classes. As you will see over the next few days......some of the members will chime in with their own opinions about taking classes or not. So...as I've advised other newbies....if others sound harsh, just laugh it off, grow a thick skin, don't take things here too personal, and learn from this site as others have.

Overall, the majority will tell you....work at a tint shop first and be the shop biyatch for a year or so. That is better than any class you'll take. You'll also see what to do and not to do when running a shop.

Good luck and see you on the boards.

Thanks for the input...... I have a full time career so the "clean up" job might be rough.....but maybe someone will put me on for a part time thing. I will look into it.

Nother question....(sorry it's a newbie thing) How many cars can a shop anticipate doing in a day??

Thanks again,

Mike

t*t,

there are way too many variables for anyone to answer that correctly. How many cars can you fit into the bay? planning on doing mobile? how many installers you have? What's the skill level? How difficult are the cars coming in that day going to be? any remove and retint? How's my marketing going to get people to call me? Will people call me? will I get referrals? Will my worker show up for work? etc..etc... hope you get my point. :thumb
