if you have a customer that claims they did they're work with you and demands that you look back on your records

because they have lost they're receipt, what do you normally do. do you spend your time and go back thru your records

or do you demand receipt?

What store would do that? It's on the customer to keep the receipt. :lol

In fact, those are my parting words..."Hold on to that receipt...you need it for any warranty work" :dunno

I will do my best to look something up. What if it werea homeowner who you did work for and they dont remember what film they picked, There is little chance I can remember every film for every job so yes i will look it up. Someone once said if you make a person happy they will tell 10 people, If you piss them off they will tell 100.

tough call. I normally remember 95% of the work I do. I only have to warranty maybe 1 or 2 window's a year at best. Most time's I just redo it I i can see the film is at fault. Not even worth my time to fill out the paper work to get credit for. Now if you had several worker's and turning out 10 to 15 car's a week I would say to have your custy's keep their recepit's no exception's.

This brings up an interesting subject.

I've had complaints in the past that film manufacturers require roll numbers and a warranty to process a claim. Based on the comments above though this would fall in line with the policy that the customer must have records.

How do you guys feel about this?

Personally after being on both sides of the business I think I would keep digital records of everything and back it up on a HD.
