I need number 5! :nope

need? :lol2

I had to dedicate a shop vac to the stove and agree that it can be a pain. It did burn efficiently since the pelletts were very dry, but was dead in the water if the power goes. One advantage is fewer bugs and being able to load the hopper for the day with the thermostat hooked up.

Hate to tell ya, but the shop vac doesn't do a very good job of filtering the fine ash from pellet burning. And you do not want that dust flying around your house. :lol

You should always use a professional service for pellet stoves/fireplaces...and if they show up with a shop vac....tell them "never mind" and get a real pro.

I had the extra filter for mine, thats why it was dedicated. The house we were staying in had a very damp basement and we used it to dry up and warm the basement, which in turn made the floors upstairs warmer so the wife was not as cold. Really helped cut down on the oil usage. That place had a 1950's era furnace that was originally wood burning converted to oil. Not efficient at all
