Tint not sticking to defrost! Tips?

Once in a great while I'll get a car through here that the film just will not stick on parts of the defroster lines of the back window. Yesterday I was tinting a Mazda 6, piece of cake car and then I realized some of the defrost lines were preventing the film to stick, is there a way to fix this or do I just have to redo it? I heated it up from the outside and used my lil chizzler, that didnt help, I tried doing a relief cut on the edge of the defrost and pushing the water out towards the side which did not help either. I told the customer to leave their defroster on for a few days and if it didn't dry up I'm more than happy to redo it. Any help or tips or even an explination would be awesome, thanks guys!

extra fine wet/dry sandpapaer (2000 grit or more) LIGHTY scuff the defrosters and that should make a big difference. :cool

I use an SOS pad, I used to use a blue scrubber but I scratched a few windows using it and stayed away from it. Where do you get 0000 steel wool? I heard of home depot but have never used it before. Also I am using Suntek HP film

I get mine at Lowes. I think it is used for staining furniture a lot, so you might want to look in that department. :beer

You'll find steel wool in the paint dept at Home Depot, next to the painters tape. BTW, I use 00 steel wool...it doesn't scratch and is much better at preventing 'peanuts' or 'bananas' from cropping up on defroster lines where more than a little heat shrinking is needed.
