I just started tinting and my first car was a Chrysler Cirrus, I had no idea the side windows had to be heat shrinked before installation...this threw me way off and made me want to quit tinting :lol ..... any clues on what other cars need to have the side windows shrinked before installation?

Welcome to hell :lol You should be able to tell if it needs shrinking when you are cutting it on the outside, it should be obvious. I tend to shrink most of them, unless it's pretty flat and I have the panels off.

Obvious in that the film will display very distinct long, thin areas conical in shape, which are known as 'fingers'. They are a result of the flat nature of film attempting to lay on a compound curved surface (which curves side to side as well as up and down).

There are too many vehicles to even begin listing them.

Lessons in heat forming 101 are in order here... :lol

Welcome aboard the ride from hell. You will be able to obtain alot of useful information from this site but ultimately it comes down to practice, practice and more practice. Trial and error if you'd like to call it. With so many different models of vehicles, you will run into alot of different curved windows. It is best to heat shrink them before you install so you don't have to fight with the film. Good luck if you are thinking about taking this trade seriously.

There are only a couple cars that I pre-shrink the door glass on....new beetle, 3000 GT, somethin' like that...pretty much everything else I shrink once the film is installed on the inside. But.......I'm a panel puller so there isn't a panel to cause problems with me doing it this way. :lol
