Madico Tint on '09 Tundra?

I've been reading this forum for several days and you guys are certainly a wealth of knowledge! I have an '09 Toyota Tundra Double Cab and it has the crappy distributor installed tint (if it can really be called tint) called Digi-Film on the front windows. I'd like to have that tint removed and have something installed that more closely matches my factory privacy glass on the rear windows. I've found a local tint place that I really like and they only use Madico tints but, from what I've read, that's not necessarily a bad thing. The installer was recommending the Madico Wincos film but I don't think I will see much of the advantage from it because I'm not having any of the other windows done. What would be another good Madico alternative to the Wincos? I was reading on here that Onyx is pretty good so would that tone match my privacy glass pretty well? Also, in your experience, what percentage on my front windows would match the factory rear privacy glass most closely? I don't really want to do anything illegal but I do like the uniform tint darkness across all windows. Any other tips on what might look good on my '09 Tundra?

Thanks so much,

Wes

Wincos would make a huge difference but is pricey. Personally it's my favorite film right now but your installer must be

good to install it.

Madico charcool would be the best color match offered from madico. Onyx is to reflective to match. Charcool is a nr color stable film with a lifetime warranty and a great dealer network to help you if it's ever needed.

Just my thoughts, hope it helps...

Where are you located? I agree with lostinbama. Great heat rejection with Wincos. We dont carry Onyx, but thats a great film as well, and it wont look anything like your factory privacy glass. Unfortunately Madico doesnt offer a film that will be the same COLOR as your factory glass in the back. My suggestion is to do the entire truck in Charcool. This will change the color slightly on the rear windows to match the color of the front windows. We carry Madico window films and Wincos (which will not match the back at all) but we refuse to do anything but legal on the two fronts.

If you are in the Katy/Cypress area, we would love the opportunity to remove your film and replace with a reputable film. Our link is below.

Have you tried it? I usually will put 45 on all windows and it looks amazing. If you only do the front doors, the match from the outside isn't bad, but from the inside looking out is worse. Putting it on all windows fixes the problem and the heat rejection is awesome. Yesterday I put wincos 20 on the front doors of a nissan rogue, don't worry she had a medical exemption, and it looked great. Try it sometime, it looks a lot better than I anticipated.

Just a thought...

Thanks for the replies! I'm actually in the Corpus Christi area, so the Houston area is a bit of a drive for me. Yeah, I was highly impressed by the Wincos display he had but I don't really think I would see the advantage unless I tinted all of my windows with it (which is a bit on the high end for me). So you guys think that doing all of my windows in Charcool would be the best way to go for aesthetics? My installer said that a 20% would match the front windows to the back but he did not recommend it due to legality. He recommended a 30% for the front and to add a bit to the back if I wanted those darker.

Thanks so much,

Wes

Contact Barry at Far Beyond Tint @ (361) 854-8468. Tell them Stephanie Peters (my wife) sent you there.

That's the shop I'm dealing with right now and Barry is the guy that impressed me. Like I've said Wincos is a bit on the steep end for me....I made the mistake of telling my wife it would cost a certain amount. Please don't take this the wrong way, but you guys have shown me a professional aspect of this business that I didn't know existed. :lol Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out!

none taken, Most tinters are drinking whisky by 10 am, cutting lines of blow with a straight razor on a hard card and tootin em with the tube out of a spray bottle.

I would like to say the cream of the crop resides on here.
