Hi Ace,

I have to begin my remarks by acknowledging that I am a Global Distributor, so I am hardly unbiased.

But I have been operating a QUV accelerated weathering system for over a decade and I test Global's as well as every other film simultaneously. On a consistent basis, the Global and Llumar films prove to be the most color stable. Without question, there are other superb films on the market that do very well in the QUV as well as out in the field.

But for whatever reason, Global and Llumar seem to have an edge. It's a safe bet that since these two companies can actually dye the polyester, it probably has something to do with it. I have distributed Global in the USA since 2003. Since the implementation of the color stable pigments in the QD/QDP/CHP, I have not processed a single claim for color problems on those products. I speak with the other Global distributors on a regular basis and they report the same.

IMO> It all fades eventually no way around it time heals and destroys everything. Now I have used sunguard :spit suntek :thumb and 3m (all of there lines) and global I put global on a car and in 2 yrs it still looks good now my dad put it on a buddies car (before I took over) and I just saw him after 5 years and his car is ALL FADED PURPLE. im not saying that Global makes a Bad Product But yes after that I switched companies. The car was an old Old accord and it sucked when I had to redo it free.

Makes sense.

If the car was tinted 5 years ago and the roll was a year old (or more) at the time, it probably did not have the color stable pigments. Check the roll number. It will be missing the "Y" in the code, indicating that the new pigments were not incorporated. Since that time, claims = 0.

I can back that up on the newest Global films ability for being color stable. I started buying from Howard 4 years or so ago and have not had any problems period. I am in the North West where we don't have just lots of sun but we still get lots of UV on cloudy days. I agree all film will fade but Global has this problem nailed :thumb

Cheers

He is saying there is a very slight chance that johnson was put on the car. and as far as llumar's color stability I am not to shure about auto but I used to install DR for flat glass and I have tinted a house in dallas with it that was about 900 sqft of glass and two and a half years later quite a few windows went bad." not the films falt just crappy windows here" anyways the film didnt match when it was reinstalled. the film remaining on the home had lightend quite a bit. The custy was not happy. I have tinted a replaced window in a home that had ceramic 40 installed 9 years ago and after cleaning the old film and comparing the old and new film it looked very good and they were west facing..
