So I've pretty much decided not to go with snaptint.com after y'all's input. I guess they can and are making a bold-faced lie on their website, which is kind of sad and irritating.

Anyway, the $175 dollar job with the Llumar ATR 35% sounds excellent, so I will go with him.

One last question though :beer

http://solargard.com/Auto/HP_Charcoal

The solargard HP Charcoal 38 has a TSER of 53, which seems legitimately superior to the Llumar ATR 35%'s 44.

And since I am looking for the most heat block in the hot southern Alabama climate with a black on black sports car, do you guys think it will be worth it for me to look for a quality tintshop who can get the Solargard HP Charcoal 38 installed for me?

I've already asked the local Llumar installer and he says he won't do any jobs if it isn't Llumar, even if I bring my own film. The supposed extra heat block from the Solargard would be nice, but I really don't feel like going out of my way spending more time and money to get it..

What do you guys think I should do?

I'd stick with the Llumar. twocents.gif

:beer If you look at the UV protection on HP Charcoal you'll see its only 98%.

Thats an indicator the UV protection is not only very week compared to those 99% or above (ATR), but its also very possible most of the UV absorbers used in a 98% rated film are in the mounting adhesive.

This shortens the life and protective value of any film.
