snaptint.com vs. Llumar ?

Hi everyone,

I am picking up my new Camaro in about 2 weeks and was doing some research on car window tint films and came across this: snaptint.com/help.php?section=specs

snaptint.com offers pre-cut films for the new Camaro at about 55 USD and their spec(especially for the HP True Grey 35) seems way superior to the Llumar ATR 35% film which has a TSER of 44% as opposed to snaptint.com's 55%(HP True Grey 35).

Is there something wrong with this picture? snaptint.com claims that their films are backed by a lifetime warranty against fading, bubbling, peeling, etc... and that they are made by top film manufacturers in the U.S.

The local tint shop where the installer has 24 years of experience and have done over 20 new Camaros will give me a Llumar ATR 35% tint for $175 and it sounds too good to be true that for about $55 I can get a pre-cut film outperforming the Llumar film by a huge margin.

But it's also hard to believe that snaptint.com is outright lying to the face of the world.

What do you guys think?

I would strongly advise you to go to your local pro. Trust this, snap tint says the same thing every other fly by night guy will. That its made by top film companies, has a warranty ect. . Flag 1-No where on that site does it tell you who that Top FIlm company is. Means that there not a dealer of any top film company. There buying the cheapest they can find and cutting it on a plotter rolling it up and charging you 5x what they got in it. There gonna shove it in a tube and you will never be able to identify it. Flag 2- If that was a top film, they would show you the specs on it from the MFG. or be able to tell you who to compare it to. Flag 3- Anyone can poop in a box, write High Quality, and give you a warranty on it with a spec sheet saying it performs XYZ. But what do you got? A terd in a box with a spec sheet some one claims is a HQ terd.

Now, are you planning on putting this kit on yourself?? So you ordered a camaro and your looking at tinting it yourself with some non branded who knows what your getting pre cut kit?

If I was you I would take it to the dealer, that you know is gonna use Llumar film, that does it as a professional as a living, who is gonna be there to warranty it, and support your local economy. I wouldnt even consider buying that no name kit and taking it to a tint shop for them to use.

Just my opinion.

...how do you plan on getting the $55 tint actually on the windows? I for see a nightmare. $175 bucks as far as I'm concerned is a steal, go see that guy if he's reputable.

Third party sales of film have no warranty. So if snap.com is buying from --- film company and selling to you without installing it, there is no warranty.

The 175 is for the film and the install right?

Yeah, thats what they told me. $175 for the job with Llumar ATR film.

I guess it's a great price and part of the reason is that the new Camaro is apparently really easy to do.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna go with him isntead of snaptint.com. If something is too good to be true, it probably isn't and people on this forum helped me be sure of that. lol
