what do you think about the guys that install PPF for cheap, I had a guy that wanted me to install the PPF on his brand new car and backed out b/c there was someone that would install it for $300. I have seen some of their work and hate it when people get a bad impression of the product when not installed the right way....

It happens everywhere......Try to sell your service, then the product. If they don't buy your service, at least you can charge double for the removal..... :beer

yep ,,, sounds just like a few I've had around here except worse........ """salesmen at local car dealerships are telling customers that ALL PPF (film type) turn yellow and has to be removed at a paint and body shop""" so they sell them on the idea of a "Wax" being the best paint protection they can get,.,.

I don't have time for PPF unless it falls in my lap,,, so I don't even bother, but here lately I've been getting calls on it (falling in my lap) :cool

think I'm going to get a few over the next month, all 3 are exotics ,, we'll see I guess.... one is a partial removal,, yippie :cool

just get in your grove and do your best to get them in,, and like Sunlimited stated charge them for removal when they come crawling back... these hard times are definitely making customers keep there cars longer now and cheap :) will fail and need to be removed by "Us", the survivors

keep your chin up and keep doing good work,,, I'll see you in the end :beer

I've got a $350 low baller in Rochester. For $425 he'll also do your rockers. No surprise he's a Venture installer who's taken the cheapest way into the business so he has no personal investment. I don't know of anybody who uses him except for the odd car dealership that likes the taste of :thumb . Even then they don't like how he takes 8 hours and multiple attempts at an install. Of course they'd rather use me, except I want more money and won't budge.

Yep, 24in hood on top of that. That's his retail price AND what he charges dealerships, so just based on ethics, he shouldn't be undercutting his accounts. I make it a point to not go under a dealer's price and if they bought it from a dealer I have an account at, refer them back to the dealership. Like I said, I'd love to go into his few dealerships and point that out to them, but they have the taste of poopie in their mouth and like it. Unfortunately, like the other hack job I posted, they have other main means of income for their business so their PPF side is essentially kept on welfare to keep it going. PPF is all I do. There's no shortage of people in this business who make it a point to shoot straight for the bottom.

If a $300 install is so bad, what does your $200 kit include?
