I would like to have the windows tinted and I have contacted a couple of shops in Charlotte. I am leaning towards using Huper-Optik film. The 3M guy with the 'Angies List' award was a disappointment. He visited the house and gave me quotes for cheap/dark 3M films.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

TIA!

Films or shops? Everyone here has differing ideas on films. Pro Tint out of Kanapolis should provide a good consultation with multiple suggestions depending on what you want to achieve. :beer

I visited Pro Tint's web site and they deal with a couple of films (Vista and Llumar) I haven't heard of.

So a Huper guy showed you a light, low reflective ceramic and a 3M guy showed you a darker NightVision series. You saying you need to be familiar with the manufacturer to consider a consultation?

If it makes you feel better the 2 films on Pro Tint's site come from a company large enough to have just spent 73 million to acquire the brand and their parent company you're leaning towards only a month plus ago.

Most any company you call can come in with a light film, it'll take a pro to spell out the differences to you. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I will be calling Pro Tint tomorrow. I wanted to pick a reputable company/manufacturer for warranty reasons.

Any updates?

I decided to go with Huper Optik C40 film. The big two-storey window is tinted and I am very happy with the performance and the appearance.

I don't have anything good to say about ProTint. The films I was shown were flimsy(too shiny/dark/reflective) and I was told that energy credit was available only after a certain number of windows were covered.
