Hello All,

I am an established tint shop in Toronto Canada and our retail business is great ! Busy but winter sucks ! I want to hit the dealership market in my area but I am not sure what the going rate is.

Any suggestions or advice ?

Thanks for your help

:twocents ..........markets vary so much it's hard to say.....When I was in Florida I wouldn't touch a dealership because they want cheap and the job done yesterday....There were guys charging dealers $79 a car.....I didn't do $79 work....Here in CT, our dealers pay top dollar, they still want the job asap, but at least were getting good money....

my dealers pay retail price, because they usually want it done later today for delivery tonight, or tomorrow morning. I squeeze them in, so I charge them full price.

I also vote retail, I didn't and I regret it, they will try and send everyone they know to get "their price", etc. I now give like $10 off on anything not going through the dealership, but I know getting them to pay more will be like pulling candy out my ass.

I just tell them normal price, unless the agree to give me a set amount each month. Then I can give them a volume discount which is usually about $20 per car. The dealer work is great to get through the off season.

double price for dealers, that's why I don't do dealer work.

your cutting yourself out of alot of money if you have the right dealers. I don't mess with the shady cheapo dealers that never want to pay and want it dirt cheap. My price is my price, if they don't like it they can go to somebody else who is willing to hizzo themselves out for pennies

another big thing for me is NO PO's. Cash/check on deliver only. I don't wait around for my money, or chase it down from people. If you can't pay for this car right now because the GM is gone for the day, then don't call me on the next one until you have the check for this one waiting. Their my customer, and I'm not their employee, so I make them play by my rules.

You'll find that helping out a couple of the salesmen will get you a lot of business. I have 3 or 4 salespeople at my dealerships who consistently push tint and send me 2-3 cars a week each.

I keep them at retail until I see they are bringing a good amt of vehicles. if they are using a PO then it's full retail no matter how much they bring.
