Warranty scam

We did a Car 5 yrs ago with Llumar ATR . Customer comes back with warranty and side windows are perfect but the back window is competly faded . Like how Sunguard did. I told him its the same film as the sides and why would the rear fade completely and not the sides . I asked if he changed the rear window . He insist he didnt and acted offended that I would question him . I guess I am stuck changing it even though I know it been replaced or something weird is going on .

Hopefully there is enough overlap on the sides or top to where you can see the color of the film. Than you may be able to compare it to the sides....... .......Contact your rep, have them come take a look, and tell the custy it'll have to be approved by the rep......worth a shot...

back glass fails first but who knows. Check the sides for any sign of adhesive failure or distortion.

If they have the warranty card filled out, receipts etc and it looks to be factory glass just clear it with your rep and you will be compensated.

Something is not right.

I have included Llumar ATR in almost every QUV Test I have ever done here. The color performance is superb. If that turns out to be Llumar, I would be very surprised.

The only question is how/when/where the other brand was put there.

I am not saying this happened in your case, but sales reps do visit dealers frequently and drop off samples which get used on customer's cars. Without detailed record keeping, if you tint a lot of cars there is no way you can remember (unless you note it on the invoice).

ATR has a lifetime warranty. If he has his warranty card with the roll lot #'s, the car is tinted leagal for the state its registered in, CPF is gonna pay you. Shouldnt be an issue. If it does not fall under the above stated then it falls back on you. And if thats the case, I wouldnt sweat it. Smile and redo it, he is gonna have his next job done by you if you treat him right. after all he found his way back to you twice now.

I don't see the problem here. Just retint the car and file your claim. It looks like a good way to really earn a life long customer with your service. To me, it's how a man handles a problem, not that he had one...

I'll bet the owner cleans the rear window and windshield with windex with ammonia..and leaves the doors down to get some fresh air cause the ammonia is killing him or her!! But unfortunately you'll never get the truth because they want it replaced!!
