Protint Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 First let me say WHATS UP to all my TD friends. It has been along time since have been on here. I know you guys will have good ideas with this delima that im in. I tinted this guys 06 Tahoe about six months ago ( carbon 18 on the D/P). Last month he tells me that the platic houseing around his side rear view mirrors are melting and the dealership is saying that the tint is causeing this to happen. I was like "no way if that was true I would be out of buisness." I told him I thought maybe there was some kind of electrical problem with them being that they are heated. The dealership checks it out and everyting checks out good so they insist it's the tint. A couple of weeks later his wife tries to open the hatchback on her van and it's stuck shut. After further inspection he sees that the top of the plactic molding is all melted and distorted. Long story short, it's the sun shineing off of the upstairs house windows acking like a magnifieing glass beaming on the cars during the day and destroying everything in its path. I want to know if you guys have any ideas. Im thinking that if I install any film that will just increase the reflection and destroy more shiz. Your ideas are greatly appreciated. PEACE
Guest scottydosnntkno Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 if its cause by the sun shining off the windows, the only option is put up a canopy or don't park the cars there
Guest CTints Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Try solar screening reduce the reflection also works for melting vinyl siding
