2010 Chevy Silverado

Suntek Carbon 35.

Customer is a PI and wanted some film on the windows but not illegal. I choose the Carbon 35 and he was very pleased with the results.

Driver window with filed edge. Customer loved the factory look.

The front doors were a pita for me b/c the window kinda tilts to the inside a bit and the pass side just wouldn't get behind the felt gasket. I finally pulled the door panel and the gasket and it went in like butter. The customer is bringing his 2010 Corvette and his wife's 2009 Beetle over in a few weeks to kick my ass some! I'm looking forward to the learning experience on the other cars... :rollin:dunno:err

I'm excited about trying to tackle the Vette and Beetle, but I'm not excited about the amount of film I'm sure I'll waste. :rollin The good thing is he knows I'm still learning and knows that it will take some time and that I'll do my best to complete the project to both of our satisfaction.

Are you planning on doing the bug back glass in 1 piece? :rollin If so, I hope you have mad shrink skills for a noob. The custy must also be a trusting person to let you practice on a corvette. I hope they work out smooth for you. :dunno BTW the truck looks like it turned out nice. :err

Once you get the trick to the new chevys, their a cakewalk.

I just trim them like I normally do, cut the front edge, shift it forward about 3/8", cut the back edge, then slide it back 3/16" :dunno That way when the window shifts a little bit forward, there won't be a huge gap at the back.

I've never had a problem with the felts being tight :rollin are you referring to the front side/edge? Just fold the film under itself, and do a full peel on the liner. The sides are pretty loose I think

yz... I'm going to attempt the Bug back glass in one piece. We'll see how it turns out. Only way to learn is to do it, in my opinion. The customer is a member of the Corvette forum I run. I've got endless supply of Corvettes to do..I better learn how to do them. :rollin I'll get pics of the Bug process for some good ole' down home criticizing when they bring the car by. It's an hour to hour and half drive for them, so it has to be planned out.

Scotty...Thanks bud. That's about how I did the front sides is just moving the film around. After a few try's, I got it dead on and just used the liner of the good window for the pattern of the next window. The pass side felt gasket that the door panel hangs on was really tight for some reason. The driver side went behind it just fine and no problems. It was frustrating as hell, all I wanted to do was throw my hard card. :dunno:err
