I need to strip a rear window that I installed Global qdp on, I remember a while ago I removed some and even with steaming it can take some heater lines with it.

Does anybody have a failsafe way of doing it so I can keep mr picky! happy!

Thanks

I believe there are way too many variables involved to have a 100% fail proof method that works all of the time (adhesive type, number of years exposed to the sun, etc...). With that being said, you may have to use a number of methods. It takes a bit longer but sometimes can be a good solution... trash bag and ammonia. :ppdance

We also use several methods and, though nasty, the amonia technique is the one we've found the most effective and least damaging. That being said, I always caution the customer that while we will take great care in removing the film, there is a possiblity that some of the defroster lines may pull off with the film. If they are willing to assume that risk we proceed with the removal.

a couple years ago when I used QDP, when I was removing the doors on my car, I found that while sitting out in the sun all day in the summer, the film just peeled off taking 95% of the glue with it. THere was just very minimal residue along the bottom edge that needed to be razored off :beach It seems like using a steamer would produce similar results

We sell "Tint-Off" by the case load. It's a product we heard about from several of our customers. They say it it's terrific.

I've removed some qdp without any problems, often steams off with most of the glue. But I think blk baggin it with ammonia would be safer for the defroster lines.

Well, allI can say it that I have tried the steamer before, and it was'nt great, so I want to make sure I get this off. Not seeing the car until a few days.

I have heard of tint-off but nver tried it. Not sure if we have it over here?
