Once the government exploits this disaster for their political greed we can all expect to start paying $10 + for a gallon of imported gas.

Mark my words...

They will make sure this disaster puts an end to off-shore drilling forever anywhere in or around the U.S. thereby keeping this country addicted to imported oil for the next several generations while effectively crippling (or killing) the economy once and for all.

True, but this is an isolated incident. Offshore drilling is relatively safe for the environment. I blame the tree huggers for not letting the oil companies drill ONSHORE, which is way safer, and not to mention cheaper.
