Having some problems

I made a post a while back about how my freshly tinted windows had some bubbles in thema nd you guys said theyw ould dry. now a week after being tinted and being parked out in the sun all week, 95% of the bubbles are gone but there are a few left. Will these continue to dry or should I call the guy who did the tint?

Also, a question for some of you guys who professionally install tint. If a customer came to you and said, "both my right rear window switch and my right front door lock don't work after you tinted my car", what would you do? I am having both these problems and I am trying to decide if it was the tint guy's fault and if I should call him about it.

what kind of car is it and how old is it. I cant remember the last time we had a problem with a custy's car not working properly after a installation. there was a guy who said we tinted his car and now his transmission is slipping. there was another lady who accused us of dammaging her electrical system. after a new altinator, regulator and diagnosis from her mechanic and still cant fix the problem she wanted me to pay her mechanic bill and give her the money back for the tintjob. I told her to get in her car, start it, shut it off and get out so I could see what she was doing. turns out she was leaving the key in accessory and pulling it out leaving the battery on. she found a new mechanic.

I would have to ask them first of all, if they could prove that they were working before you brought the car in. But if one of the problems is a window switch, and the whole window is tinted properly, then I would have to assume that maybe it is just unplugged? So if I had pulled the panels, I would pull them again and check all connections and wires to make sure there is still power there and same with the door lock...check it to see if something became disconnected. :poke

As far as drying time, your paperwork that the shop gave you should give specifics about dry time. If the installer was weak wristed, then yes...I can take a fair amount of time to dry...several weeks in fact, depending on weather. I would say....chill...if 95% went away like we said it would...what do you think the chances are that the other 5% will? :poke

The drying is the least of my worries right now. There is no way for me to prove that my window and door lock were working before thy got tinted. It is a 2004 Pontiac grand Prix. if the tint guy had broken these, should I ask for him to pay the mechanic bill or just refund me the money from the tint? I am hoping it is just a matter of something being unplugged and he can just fix it fine when I get there. He is a nice guy and apart from a few bubbles (which will dry), he did a very good job with the tint in a timely manner. I don't want to have to fight with him or anything.

I always call the customer if I find a busted power window. :rollin

I didn't do the tint but I am 99% sure he pulled the panels off. Window lock is off.

did he say/mention he did?

I rarely ever pull panels on cars strictly for this reason. I probably pull than less than 2% of the time. Usually only on lexus', did a ls600h and a sc430 last week, and you have to pull them on both those cars. now, a '04 GP is a cakewalk without pulling the panels.
