Hello, I recently put tint on my backglass window; since, the backglass window is used as an antenna, the tint seems to interfere with the AM reception. It has been one month since the tint was installed.

Now, the reception is not that bad, but it can get annoying at times. Are there any tips outhere that can eliminate the static of some AM stations? If I take it to the place where they installed the tint, will they be able to do anything to fix the problem?

Thanks

:embar yeah stay within 10 miles of the Am station your trying to listen to ...

there's no doubt that you are having a problem,,, ok so what film do you have on there so we can all know what we are dealing with... it's possible you'll have to get it changed out with a NR film

I install my All metal films on lots of cars and the problems are very little to None,, in fact I haven't heard anything from my cars in such a long time I can't remember when it was..... yet it does not mean it won't happen again.,

most AM stations are good for maybe a 15-50 mile radius anyway ,, they are low powered and which means the signal is weak from the start,

Couple of things can be done.

1. If the antenna is separate from the defroster the tinter can splice the film right above the top most defrost line.

This will break the connection between the two components and reception should return to normal. But if the antenna and defrost are integrated as one this will not work.

2. Replace the film with a nonmetal or ceramic film.

There are some great non-fade non-metal films out there.....you might want to look into replacement.
