I have used several install solutions and recently tried a gel solution that was giving to me as a sample . Seems to work great and make for a real clean install . What do you guys use and what ahve you foudn to NEVER use again ?

Gel has been good and bad. The Durashield gel is nice since it not pre mixed. Can fine tune it to your install needs. The other premixed gel is a little too slimy for my needs. They again it also depends on the film used. Some do better with the old soapy water and alky mix while others need a lot more care.

I use soap/water alky/water. My alky is about 25/75 and that's for venture ultra. I did get some gel today and am going to try it out on a 2010 Camaro tomorrow.

Thats a good car to try it on since your are a bulker. Unless you are on a black car I would stick to your normal mix on the hood and fenders if you wrap your edges. The gel helps on the bumper since you can work one side and take your time. The gel does not dry out as quick and gives you some slack.

So I did a 2010 Camaro, 2010 Evo , and a 08 Eclipse yesterday and used gel. Not sure what brand it was, my bro does this to and brought it to me already in a spray bottle. Like everything it takes some getting used to. For me the pro's are, it's slick when used on the top of the film to squeegee with, seems to tack any think you push down the fist time , and I think its is because and this is the best pro to me, it is thick so it doesn't siphon back into finger as easy. Con's, Slimy hands, I hand cut so I had to keep wiping my hands off so I could hold my knife well, it tacks so strong if you ever need to pull the film back it's not happening with out some heavy marks. Last con was any extra material that sat on on another part of the car, when I would pull it off the glue would stay on the car. I would like to try diff brand. I was using venture ultra.
