what is your opinion on doing work for dealers. I have no dealers now, but I was wondering if its worth it or not. and if your do the work for them do you go to them and do the job, or do they come to you. thank you

dealerships can bring you a load of business. in the week and a half I have tinted 8 cars for 3 dealerships. in our situation the dealers came to us because the shops there were taking them to started focking the cars up, so we get the dealers back by default. we make dealers schedule cars if we are busy, and that kinda pisses them off somethimes and they take it to another shop for a while then they come sniveling back because the shop they were using can handle their business.

ifs funny we charge more than the other shops and dont let the dealers push us around and we stull get the work :poop its funny to me.

thats the way it should be, get inline behind the next car and no discounts!

too bad thats not reallity in the dealer eyes and it's great for the shops that can do it that way!

reality is them bringing youcars or you picking them up and offering to do them for less and pushing them up in the line cause there so important to you!

if you can survive with out them then your better off, it does keep you busy when no retail comes in!

If the auto dealership is willing to work with you, then I'd say go for it. Most of them want the job done yesterday and will not tolerate it if you don't work around their schedule. I have quite a few really good dealership accounts that schedule cars around my busy schedule so I treat them very well. The only thing is you have to be patient with payment as most usually pay within the second week of each month. But think of it like this, you get a nice size check each month around the same time. :lol6

I get alot more business from the people that work at the dealerships than I do from the dealership. So I say go for it. Just be sure to make nice with the guys in the wash bays and the mechanics, They always have work for me. I just walked in a dealership today and did a car for a mechanic and scheduled 2 for friday :lol6

I've said it before, I'll say it again. dealership work is sh!t. I had five dealerships 6 years ago. now I have none. and I don't miss it one bit. don't miss it financially either.

If you want dealer work and you can't get in the front door go in through the back door, dealers can be hard to get in with if you have not been around a long time,so go through the service dept get to know the service advisers believe it or not they can referr you alot of business.I used to do alot of cars for the guys in the service dept at a dealer here becuase even though I was a little more expensive they liked my work and the tinter thats sales used wasn't as good he was just cheep :lol6
