Back in 1998, the Vista School District did modernizations at a middle and elementary schools. They had us apply 4mil SG SS175 on over 5,000 windows at the middle school, and 1,800 windows at the elementary school. They realized the energy AND safety aspects of such an application. :evileye

any indication of the proportion of users for solar control w safety features as opposed to just safety alone?

HO,

Are you talking car or flat glass market?

For me downunder, auto security film failed to take off mainly because the SOB was hard to fit and get it to stay down on all the modern trendy glass using dot matrix edges.

Flat glass wise it is nearly always wanted in clear because the majority of this product goes up on glass that still needs to be seen through primarily.

Jobs with solar and security in one required? Maybe one in a hundred.

We don't do it for a long time... It's better to have Solar Control + Safety - U feel more flexible.....Just my opinion.....

Huper,

Most film combinations of solar and security are in 4 thou or 100 micron sold here downunder.

There are a few with the 50/50 combination both again most of these films are more in line with the fully reflective ones with 20% VLT for max sun control and then laminated to the easy to fit 4 thou. :beer

If I had a 60" roll of it, it would die on the shelf or be too heavy to lift because of the dust on it. :evileye Only ever buy it pre-cut to order and I let film distributors carry the inventory.

60" is about the only size too available.
